Doesn’t beat the first book
Nice to learn more about the characters old and new, some lovely moments and really enjoyed the deep topics covered. Felt like the story went a bit sideways at time, I wasn’t sure what the story was/where it was going

Sadly didn't live up to The House in the Cerulean Sea
I loved the first book, so my expectations for this sequel were high.
Sadly I didn't feel that it hit the same level, and the narration was the most overly emotional thing I've ever listened to, it felt exaggerated and several times I felt that it was completely misplaced.
Honestly struggled to get through it

Loved David’s story.
Loved the first book but this isn’t nearly as good. So some that it is spoiled. Really disliked the attack on JK Rowling. Not necessary!

Magical!
This is a beautifully written and narrated tale of magic, love, adversity, diversity and family. A wonderful and satisfying sequel to The House on the Cerulean Sea.

Good story, weird performance
A nice continuation of the formar book, though, in my opinion not equally top notch. It was absolutely enjoyable and I did like it a lot, but Cerulean Sea is my fave out of these two stories. I liked the narrator (same as this story) better in Cerulean Sea, too. I had issues from time to time during this story with how he chose to read some parts. It was, at times, quite hysterical, which lead to some cringe on my part. Sometimes it was a bit over emotional in places and it didn't quite go with the tone. Overall, would recommend but I really want to reread it for myself, book in hand!

Let.down.
This sadly is not.as.good as.the firat one. The new yeti character is annoying, the chqracterisation.more kne dimensional.

Loved this book
Always love TJ Klune books and this is no exception. Narrator was also fabulous. The only thing that detracted from this book was the dig at JK Rowling in the acknowledgments.

glorious language
The prose is like swimming in a warm sea of language and it flows over you. The story itself is heavy to start but the joy and fun shines through until it all explodes in wonder and beauty
