Schon vor 9000 Jahren wurden sie angebaut, buddhistische Mönche verbreiteten sie in Ostasien, mit der Industrialisierung begann ihr globaler Siegeszug. Die Nazis wollten mit Sojaprodukten Blitzkriege gewinnen, Hippies mit Tofu den Weltfrieden herbeikochen. Und heute stammt das Saatgut für drei Viertel der weltweiten Anbaufläche aus den Labors amerikanischer Gentechnik-Konzerne. Die Sojabohne ist das schillerndste Agrarprodukt der Menschheit.
