İşte o an obada büyük bir uğultu koptu. Bu gürültünün etkisiyle çadırlarından dışarı koşturan Bayındır Han'ın, Dirse Han'ın ve diğer Oğuz beylerinin gözleri yuvalarından fırlayacak gibi olmuştu. O korkunç canavarı bu adsız oğlancık mı öldürmüştü? Gerçek olabilir miydi bu? Oğuz eli bunca zamandır böyle güçlü, böyle yiğit birini görmemişti. "Dedem Korkut gelsin!" diye bağırdı Bayındır Han. "Bu oğlana bir ad koymanın tam vaktidir!"
