About this listen

The first in an all-new fantasy series from rising star David Dalglish.

The last remnants of humanity live on six islands floating high above the Endless Ocean, fighting a brutal civil war in the skies. The Seraphim, elite soldiers trained for aerial combat, battle one another while wielding elements of ice, fire and lightning.

The lives of their parents claimed in combat, twins Kale and Breanna Skyborn enter the Seraphim Academy to follow in their footsteps. They will learn to harness the elements as weapons and fight at breakneck speeds while soaring high above the waters. But they must learn quickly, for a nearby island has set its hungry eyes on their home. When the invasion comes, the twins must don their wings and ready their blades to save those they love from annihilation.

Loved this book

I'm a David Dalgleish fan from the early years of his Kindle books so I was very gratified to see him branch out in a different direction with this one.

Great concept and reminded me of the first Brian Stavely book (The Emperors Blades - get this if you haven't already)
I love the stories of development through some rigorous training system and the hardships faced. They are a bit old hat but no less entertaining for it

The combat in this is different to most other books and again, great to be introduced into a different world where value is placed on different commodities.

A good start to what is no doubt going to be a great series of books if the shadow dance books are anything to go by

Really really good!

Great narration, great story and well worth buying and reading/listening! One of Davids later works and you can tell he is evolving as an author and definitely for the better.

unbalanced

seriously this book contains two main characters. the brother looks pathetic whilst the sister looks like god. its ridiculous honestly can't be bothered with books like this. always having one main character that makes the other look useless.
