Summary
At the crux of all addictions is a quest to narrow focus and relieve stress.
Sipping Fear shows you how the catecholamines responsible for desire and fear always act together. Desire is by its very nature a form of fear (like FOMO: fear of missing out). This is what narrows focus and provides temporary stress relief.
Sipping Fear Pissing Confidence reveals how using the catecholamines to relieve stress unavoidably displaces confidence. Hence, the audiobook's title.
Christopher K Wallace is a behavioural science trained counsellor focusing on mental fitness as the advisor to men. With a "colorful past" referenced only in support of the listener, he uses his decades of personal and practical experience to help men reclaim their power to find meaning and freedom. All the men he works with around addictions have resolved their addictions in short order. You can too!

Excellent insight into the mind and fear.
Excellent insight into the mind and addiction and fear. It may take a few goes to wrap your head around it but it's true in what it says and applying this mantra can really help you unravel your fears and live a more meaningful life.
Much of it will make you think "Oh yeah... Why didn't I think of that".
One excellent analogue of alcohol for example "If drinking is so good, why does it not get better the more you drink?"
That there is enough to make you wonder why the heck you'd touch a drop.
Christopher delves deep into the ground basics of fears and how to turn them around. He's concise, clear and has working examples he's experienced with clients to help you understand it too. I'm on my 5th listen and honestly it's a brilliant listen that I can't recommend enough if you wish to level up and cut the BS from your life without annoying macho "red pill" or "beards and coffee" type "alpha" horse crap Moguls and grifters peddle these days.

I was in tears a few times. Outstanding.
"I don't want. I win."
A brilliant book filled with equal parts philosophy, psychology, physiology and story. Mr Wallace presents the riddle of addiction, a prominent malady of our times, in a way never I've never seen before.
A must listen for any man who wants to become the best version of himself, and has correctly identified that addiction is the number #1 thing that stands in his way.
This book will blow your mind and invite your spirit into existence. Listen a few times. It will change your life.
