Summary
Sherlock Holmes is bored between cases at 221B Baker Street. So when King Oskar II of Sweden - who has heard of the discovery of the Kensington Runestone by a farmer in Minnesota - asks to engage his services, Holmes jumps at the chance to decipher the runes and determine whether the find is real or a hoax. With Dr. John H. Watson by his side, faithfully recording every detail, Holmes makes his way to Minnesota for a third time. But, in the first of many strange and unfortunate coincidences, the farmer who found the mysterious stone is murdered, and the stone itself is stolen on the day the famous detective arrives.
With the help of one Shadwell Rafferty, now a friend and partner, Holmes must solve this baffling case to find both the stone and the murderer.

Clever plots
Very clever the way the author has engaged Sherlock and Holmes into Minnesota mysteries.
Well written and surprises, twists and turns along the way.

the series is a well crafted copy
apart from some American language that would never be used by Watson in a narrative, this series of books are very good imitations and a very satisfactory homage to Conan Doyle. The constructions are excellent, atmospheric and resonant of H and W. the narrator does an excellent job except for the inconsistent phrasing of some characters' names and their accents. Shadwell can be a Rafftey more often than a Rafferty and once a Rattery. I've enjoyed them much more than I had expected. 👍.

Another great story and narration
Forget the fact these are free downloads. I would gladly have paid for this series. Larry Millett just as Will Thomas, have taken the ethos of Holmes and Watson and lead the way of new writings. Well researched and intriguing plots, allied to rich characters make easy listening enjoyable.
Steve Hendrickson has great talent ( though I did snigger at his Swedish accent sounding a tad Indian !…. Otherwise perfect)

Sherlock Holmes was not a bully
The accents were awful and the story a bit over done and the hero bullied people I don’t remember the Original version of the character ever bullying people further down the pecking order but in this book he did. So for me the character didn’t resemble the original. The story was ok if a bit longwinded and the accents iffy.
