Listener received this title free

For a listener always in search of new Sherlock Holmes stories it can be tough to find good ones. This one may not be perfect but it's a good story, can be finished in an evening, and has a reading that doesn't get in the way - give it a go.

There are many 'new' Sherlock stories including some by big names but there are far more by unknowns. Sadly, many are strewn with Americanisms (Holmes and Watson would never have said, or written, 'train station'). Then there are those whose recordings have truly shocking production values or with readings that prevent enjoying even a good story.

This has neither of the above problems. Language choice seemed unusual in a couple of places but didn't detract from the story and, while the narration wasn't as good as some I've heard, I was able to get lost in the story (except for a certain Sgt. who was a bit off). That said, even established narrators can make perplexing pronunciation choices etc at times. Try it.

A worthy effort and worth a listen.
