Summary

When the naked, battered body of an unidentified teenager is found dumped in an alleyway, postmortem finds evidence of a harrowing series of events. Another teenage death with the same MO pushes DI Hannah Robbins and her team on the Nottingham City division Major Crimes Unit to their limits - and across county borders.

In a race against the clock, they attempt to unpick a thick web of lies and deceit to uncover the truth behind the deaths. But it doesn't stop there. When catching a killer isn't enough, just how far are the team willing to push themselves to save the next girl?

Critic reviews

"A gritty police procedural, with no-holds barred and a shocking insight to the reality of some. Dark and disturbing, yet exceptionally compelling." (Mel Sherratt, author of Taunting the Dead)

Difficult topic

This is a very disturbing topic, the main characters thoughts and revulsion aligned with my own, this was helpful. Well read.

Shallow

Did finish the book but it felt patchy and not connected together. The end was foreseeable as it was the likely reason for the site storylines

Shallow Waters

Couldn't put it down. Intense, sad, harrowing content, but realistic and sadly true. From a retired paediatric nurse, who knew only too well the extent of domestic child abuse, but also with a wider knowledge of the perversities of primarily, the male of the species. 😢😢

Quite gripping

Good story on a subject we would all like to think doesn’t happen but surely does and whilst there are sick people out there unfortunately there will always be very young people groomed to fulfil their needs and wants.

Good story

I really enjoyed this audiobook, it was a bit harrowing but the story moved along, the narration good and ended well.
