Summary

You don’t choose the academy. The academy chooses you.

The last of the Culling Trials is here. I foolishly thought I’d survived the worst. My team is falling to pieces around me, and my heart is shattered for the losses I’ve endured. But I can’t stop when I’m so close to the end. There are too many people depending on me.

I foolishly thought there wasn’t much more I could lose...until the nature of my bloodline comes to light. I’m not who I thought I was. Not what anyone thought I was. But to tell people the truth would be to kill us all.

To fail the trials will mean death, but to succeed might damn me for life.

Pretty good

The ‘baddie’ was a bit of a disappointment for me, felt like an anti-climax and there were portions of the story that I didn’t understand.
But it was fun and exciting with plenty of danger and action and a touch of romance. Loved the main character, so refreshing to see a girl written this way. She’s strong, daring and wicked smart. Wish all females were written so well.

Shadowspell Academy: The Culling Trials

The Third book finds out all the mysteries and puts most things to right, Wild finds out how special she really is. Loads of fun to listen to thanks to Khristine Huam.

A good twist at the end!!

So we've now reached the end of the Culling Trials and boy did those trials really put the ragtag group through it!!

It's still not exactly fast paced, but it's enough to keep you turning those metaphorical pages!!

There's a good few twists there, that you really don't see coming and a couple you could from a mile off. But it all makes for great reading.

Now the trials are done, it's now time for the sorting, but instead of the sorting hat like Harry Potter, we have a cauldron that spits out the trinkets.

Khristine Hvam is back again, narrating the parts and bringing those testy characters alive. She has an easy drawl as she reads the parts.

However her idea of a posh English/British accent, yeah for well that didn't work out at all. Definitely stick to never doing another British accent, posh or otherwise, and you'll remain great.

Other than that less than flattering attempt, I would still highly recommend both book and audio too. So enjoy 🙂👍
