Some essential HH reading
The Crimsom Fist is the only depiction of the Battle of Phall, and The Prince of Crows is the closest you'll get to a depiction of the Thramas Crusade. And they are both good, good enough alone to give this a listen. And then you get a few short stories on top of that.

Definitely worth listening to. Some good stories but bad narration at times. John Banks mixes up his voices occasionally.

Probably the best short story collection in the Ho
Probably the best short story collection in the Horus Heresy as I said in the title. If you're just following the main books take time to listen to this as well.

John Banks is awful as a narrator.
Which is a shame, his uninspired, droning voice ruins some great stories. Seeing his name will always make me refrain from purchasing an audio book from now on.

Some of the stories are very good.
a worth while listen. crimson fist, lord of crows and the ravenguard book are very intriguing lostwns and well written and performed
