Summary
There exist those who oppose the Dark Ones: mystics attuned to the earth, the druids. From San Bernadino they come, sending one of their mightiest, their Draige-Uisge. He can shape energy, twist it to harm or heal. But he must have something to bend, and the requisite power can be summoned by one method alone¿and from one source: the beauty Xiao Fei, the Phoenix Tear. Her blood is the key, along with her ecstasy; her union with Patrick means salvation.
Yet in a world of vampires, werewolves and evil untamed, even a kiss can be deadly. Opposition lurks in every shadow, peril in every caress¿and both redemption and oblivion lie in one woman being...seduced by Crimson.

Nothing like as good as the middle three...
This made me really angry! I listen in 1.5 hour chunks, and in the first chunk you get the classic male-rape fantasy - woman forced into sex which is totally mind blowing for her as her traitorous body yearns towards him - shame on this author for promoting such drivel!
Then in the next chunk after she's forgiven him for virtually raping her, they make out in a room full of people. Now maybe they could forget the others but I sure as hell couldn't - it was really uncomfortable and I almost cheered when someone tells then to knock it off - hear hear, say I!
Later, having specifically told us how precious water is in the werewolf tunnels, they make out under the shower - wasting water! Again, maybe they forgot, but I spent the whole time thinking turn the bloody water off!
The ending was flip and this couple never get together just because they want to - there's always the \"we have to save the world through sex\" thing going on. Oh and the heroine is a hemophiliac whose blood heals, and she drips and pours and gushes all over the place, and it's a hell of a long way in before there's any mention of how pale or tired she is.
No, I didn't like this. I'd have chucked the book, but at these prices I feel I have to listen to the bitter end. And with an audio book it's difficult to skip bits!
A disappointment.
