About this listen
So...the first city he traveled to on a new world wasn’t exactly what he expected....
House Gracefall wasn’t anything like what Derek had imagined it would be. Instead of rage and anger at the loss of one of their young masters, House Gracefall showed humility and even apologized.
Despite one noble house exemplifying honor and nobility, another awaited to reinforce the negative stereotypes that Derek had been anticipating all along. Somehow, out of all that, Derek made a new friend, a new business partner, and learned some secrets, while Silvi got her first taste of the real world of cooking and loved it.
With his success rate of meeting nobles being at 50-50, Derek and company have now ventured forth to a new city. What will await them there? What are the odds that he can go two-for-three on noble families? Will Silvi get her own kitchen?
He plans to answer these questions and more as he and his companions enter Savannah, the business capital of the Cydarian Kingdom.
Don’t miss this next chapter of Derek’s adventure in a new world with a new System, with the unique combinations of LitRPG, isekai, and the slice-of-life genres. Join Derek and his companions as they continue to explore this old but new world.

really starting to grow on me
well its great that the protagonist has no problem with the evil do'ers, they're no problem, barely an inconvenience, nice for them to just get a well deserved kicking from Derek lol

Really Good, easy listen
So I really like that book, it doesnt need to much attention and it was fun listening to it while playing games.
Adam Verner was great as Voice and gave this book warmth and familiarity.
A bit of a spoiler here.

Horrible narrator
The narrator is horrible, but seems to be fine for a Disney sort of audience. I like the story so much that I can suffer through this narrator. Worst narrator from all that I've heard. It's like he's only reading for children. Terrible!

Good continuation
Although there's not enough murder bunny content for me this was still an enjoyable book. There's a good mix of combat and humour and while I usually prefer single pov style stories the multiple pov in this is well written and blended together

but.. there is no challenge for the mc and his party. Not much interaction between MC and his bonded companion

somehow I've ended up back here again for more disappointment
I messed up. I didn't intend to continue on with this series. I listen to a lot of litrpg audio books and found myself running out of material to enjoy. I honestly forgot about this series and why I hadn't continued with the series🤦🏾♂️. on an impulse I used two credits and bought the next two in the series🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. I listened to 1 &2 to refresh my memory before I started the new purchases (I hadn't written the reviews for them at that time). Then it all came flooding back.
still the same, snails pace storyline with nothing much going on. a whole chunk of the story was dedicated to sharing the experience of building a house for them to live in....and I mean down to the building contractors having a bidding war to see who will be giving the work. Could have been condensed to them finding a building that was perfect for their purposes and purchasing it....and I mean just telling us they purchased it rather than taking us to the estate agents with you and going through paperwork.
I think the audible book is 15 hrs long. There was about 7 hrs left when I think I came across the first bit of real action given or take. even then, it wasnt even part of some bigger plot. Some half elves took it on themselves to attack them for what ever the reason, were defeated and ultimately let go after questioning. I am missing out some parts no doubt but I'm just highlighting the parts I struggled to get through. Got better by the end but by then I was listening because I've paid for it. I've got one more book to listen too but it's not looking good so far. hopefully now that I've retrospectively gone back and wrote my reviews I won't buy anymore in error because I've forgot how much I didn't enjoy this boring book.
