Summary

When a man is found dead, mutilated in his house, DS Wendy Knight and DCI Jack Culverhouse soon realize that Jeff Brelsford was killed for one reason: he was a pedophile.

As Wendy does her job and tries to find the killer, Culverhouse is less keen. As far as he's concerned, this is justice.

With Culverhouse's attitude and stubbornness leaving him on the sidelines, Wendy delves deeper into the dark and murky world of Jeff Brelsford, and what she discovers is enough to shock her to her core.

Could it be that the killer was someone very close to home, a police officer?

Rough Justice is a gripping, fast-paced serial killer thriller which will captivate fans of Peter James, Ian Rankin and Mark Billingham.

Great story, engagingly read

This short novel is fast-paced with enough hooks and pithy cynicism to keep you engaged. It's entertainingly read by the author and will appeal to fans of modern crime thrillers, without alienating traditionalists who value engaging plots.

An excellent afternoon's listening.

I have struggled with detective novels in a modern setting, being a Sherlock Holmes fan, but this is a great story, which works well with the modern setting; with enough background that the lack of traditional whodunit deduction isn't a problem. Read excellently by the author.

Great Book

What made the experience of listening to Rough Justice the most enjoyable?

Another great book by Adam Croft, thoroughly enjoyed it, a really dark and pacy read.

FIRST TIMERS - Please read!

This is the first time I’ve listened to one of Adam’s books and was disappointed, sorry Adam.

The story was ok but seemed to lack some of the suspense and drama I’ve come to expect. Maybe it was me but it seemed disjointed with no real focus point.

As for the narration - apologies Adam, but you need to stick to writing. The pace was good, with the correct pauses after commas and between sentences etc. But your accents totally suck.

I’m so glad this wasn’t my first Adam Croft book as it would have put me off listening to any others.

So........ If you are thinking of listening to this and you haven’t come across Adam before, please note that it is not his best work and consider starting with one of his other books. You won’t be disappointed.
