Summary

Ex-Green Beret Colin Doyle has the most maddening, frustrating job in Washington D.C. - protecting the First Daughter of the United States. Erin Anderson is irresistibly beautiful, quick-witted and cunning, completely untouchable - and apparently bound and determined to lure him out of his dark shades and neutral suit.

From the moment Colin took over her security detail, Erin has felt their sizzling connection, and caught glimpses of a heart bigger than his protective streak. Yet the cool, no-nonsense mercenary has resisted every temptation her wit and cunning can cook up.

When she’s targeted by a home-grown terrorist, and Colin is forced to take Erin and run, keeping his distance is no longer an option. But as their attraction melts into desire, it becomes horrifyingly clear Erin is just pawn in a much bigger game - and it’ll take calling in the world’s most dangerous backup to beat a fast-ticking clock on the President’s life.

If they fail, all hell will break loose.

Action and romance, Exactly as requested

Enjoyable, character development, and plot development Brought to life by excellent narration.
Several plot twists.
The good guys are all good even if a little slow to realize it, and the bad guys are all bad, which is not a useful model for real life, but very enjoyable for an escapist story

Endings and beginnings

So the red team concludes (kind of, these boys won’t go quietly and will appear in the other team series too!) and the Gold team begins.

Carly Robins and Jason Clarke have done a fabulous job with this series and its a wonderful ending to wrap up on

A fitting conclusion to the series, with a carry over storyline to walk us neatly into the next set of books. Colin the last to fall and as we all long suspected it was in the direction of the wildly underestimated Erin.

A rocky start filled with lust with no concept of each other as real people, concluded with a deep understanding of the other and steam being generated at every turn, having travelled a perilous path together that accelerated their journey.

The wider team performed perfectly as usual and a giant team effort towards the end sets pulses racing as operation alpha team are brought together for one big op.

A fab read and that epilogue……

Exasperating

Well narrated nonsense. The blurb sounded interesting, but not too far into the tale we discover the First Daughter at age 25 is a virgin. Nowhere in the write up does it give this fact or I would've skipped this book, because it's just going to be silly shenanigans from there on, which is what this was. Part recruitment poster and part reverse Cinderella.

After the rescue attempt, and the insta-love/marriage proposal, I gave up about 3hrs in. I expected more from the writer than trite and trivial.

DISAPPOINTING
