Summary
“I’ll make up my own mind about you.”
Months after he was mugged in Houston, legal secretary Jasper Barnes is still hiding out in Hidden Creek. Self-defense classes would boost his confidence. Problem is, the guy offering them is Chad Allaback, and he has a reputation, to say the least. So why does Jasper feel an irresistible pull toward him?
Six months after his wake-up call, Chad is too afraid of his past to reach out to those around him in his hometown. Accepting help from Jasper, when he finds out he’s about to lose his home, is the hardest thing he’s done. Can he really change now?
Self-defense lessons quickly turn into a sizzling, secret connection. When neither man is sure if they can trust their heart to the other, they hit a breaking point all too quickly. It’s going to take a Hidden Creek miracle to heal their scars and find redemption in each other’s arms.
Welcome to Hidden Creek, Texas, where the heart knows what it wants and where true love lives happily ever after. Every Men of Hidden Creek novel can be listened to on its own, but look out for familiar names around town! This audiobook contains a changed man, gossip text chains, and a sassy twink kissing his unexpected savior.

A perfect, powerful and redeeming redemption story! Proves how valuable second chances can be!
I haven't read the previous seasons of the Men of Hidden Creek, so didn't know the troubling past of Chad and his previous actions. However, I felt Ed was able to draw us into Chad's life, mind and past regrets that I didn't really feel like I was missing anything. I felt for Chad and his overwhelming regret, guilt and his desire to change and grow in spite of his past actions and less than savory dealings. Chad wants to change and is trying so, so hard.
My heart did break at various points throughout this story as Chad had to face many roadblocks, the backlash from the town and continually face being seen as the same 'disgrace' he felt he was before.
I loved Jasper, his story and his attraction to Chad, that, thankfully he doesn't fight and decides to make up his own mind about the person in front of him rather than judge Chads past. As they both face their own hardships, I loved the simmering attraction and fledgling relationship they start in spite of it all. There back and forth and miscommunication is endearingly adorable and I felt Jasper and Chad are perfectly matched and make each other want to better versions of themselves!
This was an emotional read but I loved it! A fantastic redemption story to prove people can change and heal from the guilt and mistakes of their pasts!
As with this whole season of Hidden Creek Nick's narration is fantastic!

Redemption is Possible
Redemption is part of the Men of Hidden Creek series, a multi-author series with shared characters and a shared setting. The series is set up in Seasons, which reminded me of a Hallmark Channel TV series. Redemption is book 6 of Season 4. However, although Redemption is part of a bigger series, it was very easy to read it as a standalone. I’ve never read a Men of Hidden Creek book before, but I was really interested in the series since a few of my favorite authors write for series. Redemption was very easy to follow as a newcomer to Hidden Creek, but I could definitely tell there was a lot of history behind each character. E. Davies did an amazing job balancing explaining the history of the characters to newbies like me but also building on to this history and giving series fans a treat at hanging out with previous favorite characters.
I really liked Redemption. I thought the plot was well done with a lot of introspection and personal growth for both characters. Chad has been a jerk most of his life, and watching his redemption arch (the title of this book is not subtle) was really touching. He is such a sensitive man who previously internalized the worst of masculine toxicity much to his detriment. Jasper was the brightness and confidence that Chad needed to get his life in order. I love everything about Jasper, from his spunky personality to his amazing professionalism. He was a wonderful character.
Nick J. Russo narrated the audiobook and did a fantastic job with it. I love his voice and how smoothly he can switch from character to character. I had no trouble keeping track of who was talking and easily followed along in the story. The performance was well done and the audiobook was well produced.

Absolutely loved it
3.5 stars’ This was my first Men or Hidden Creek books (and it definitely won’t be my last!) Because it was my first, I didn’t really get to see all the negativity by Chad in the past, and I’m glad for it as I’m not an easy forgiver lol. Instead, I got to see a man who has made bad choices in the past, but is truly repentant about them and is trying to change himself for the better. There was no hiding his past though, and I loved that, as it gave the relationship with Jasper (who knew what had happened) more credibility. Jasper was an amazing character too; who dealt with his own issues and it was all just handled so maturely and wonderfully.

as great as the ebook
The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Nick J Russo is one of the top 5 narrators for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow.
I'm just not yet finish with the book, just over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

This story was a good listen! There were all the elements of a great story! The characters were interesting, the plot was captivating and the ending was excellent.
The narration was spot on and Russo did a great job bringing all the characters to life. I especially love how Russo gets so into a story, its like you can feel the goosebumps from his voice's passion

Second chances
We are back in Hidden Creek a gem of a Texan town that is so inclusive it makes you want to live there. This is the fourth season of this wonderful multi-author series.
Chad was a jerk bad guy in a previous seasons book but he’s trying to turn his life around, if the people of Hiddencreek would give him a chance. Maybe he will get the chance, when Jasper who is suffering a crisis of confidence, takes up his offer to help him learn some self defence. What follows is a sweet emotional read that will bring a tear to your eye.
I love this last book of the season as Chad has changed and so deserves his HEA. Such an enjoyable read.

Ending on a high!
E.Davies is a go to author of mine so I was thrilled to see they had contributed to the fourth series of Hidden Creek.
Chad was very much the villain in past books but in this book he gets his chance at Redemption, and is working hard to make amends and a better name for himself.
Jasper has runaway from Huston to Hidden Creek after a mugging, and after agreeing to take self defence lessons from Chad, sees the positive changes and encourages others to see them too.
Not everything is smooth sailing but there is always a HEA in Hidden Creek 🥰

Ending the series on a high
I’ve said before, and just to keep repeating myself, I’ve loved this series. It’s great that different Authors have written around the town of Hidden Creek, it’s lead me to some writers I may never have tried otherwise.
I enjoy E Davies’ writing and so was thrilled to get to listen to this. It was great to revisit a character we met earlier on in the series and whom I didn’t like so much before. As it’s titled though, it was Chad’s chance for redemption, he changed hugely in this book. I loved Jasper and Chad by the end of this book, there’s plenty of back and forth but they get their HEA.
Russo is, as always, fantastic. There’s plenty of humour and feels in this book and he hits the nail on the head with all the emotion. A great end to this series.

Sweet Redemption
All of the hidden creek books can be read alone, this one has some back story in the very first book Shelter. I love it when a character from a previous book who was, shall we say less than perfect, gets a chance at redemption. Chad is the one. He has a history within Hidden Creek, one which he thinks the town won’t forget or forgive. A second chance comes with Jasper who for his own reasons agrees to give Chad a chance. There’s no quick fix here. Both Chad and Jasper have a lot to work through and learn before any lasting change can happen. There are bumps in the road, misunderstandings and finally enlightenment leads to a happy ending. Perfect conclusion to season four.
Nick J Russo has added to this already wonderful series by enhancing the books with his excellent narration. He gave so many characters an extra dimension it a delight to listen to.
