Whimsical, colorful illustrations accurately and appropriately depict the skin tones and geographic settings specific to each culture. Images are well balanced and integrated with short sections of well-translated text. Some readers may struggle to decipher some of the text, which is written in a script font, but overall this series provides a well-rounded offering of stories that appeal to a wide audience. Critical thinking questions and ideas for how readers can write their own stories correspond well to the Common Core curriculum.
