A Book Full Of Giggles
As a child from the 50s it was easy for me to picture everything in this very amusing story. My husband kept asking what I was giggling at so I bought the book for him to read. He says it is very entertaining.
I will add that the narration on Audible is excellent.

Really enjoyed the tales from a northern toe lovely tales with some good characters featured
The narration was grand too by the multi talented Gerard Doyle

Genuinely heart warming
I loved this book and coming from and working in the area of Yorkshire this is set I immediately started to recognise the settings and the people. Very funny in places with very deliberate phrases to cause laughter, I’ll not forget that lady in Lincolnshire who hadn’t had her bush trimmed in many a long year… you need to read it to understand.

Entertaining
An entertaining story of rags to riches with Northern charm and a bit of high jinx. I wasn't really sure whether I would like the book but it kept me engaged so much that I listened to all of the book in one sitting.

loved loved loved this book
I enjoyed this so much, I hope there is going to be a follow on book... such humour and a great story. knowing its about characters that I knew made it even funnier. Well done Allen a truly good read.
