About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

The hilarious new book from the million-copy best-selling author of Faking Friends and Tell Me a Secret.

When Laura's marriage falls apart, she needs to find a home for her and her daughter. And quickly.

Welcome to the Close, a beautiful street of mansions, where Laura rents a tiny studio above a garage and gorgeous Stella is the indisputable queen bee who soon suspects Laura of having designs on her fiancé.

But when Laura unearths the ghastly secret he is hiding, it threatens Stella's perfectly curated world as well as Laura's career.

Hatching an elaborate plan to beat him at his own game, these former enemies are now best friends.

But has Laura forgotten that revenge always comes with a sting in the tail?

I loved this book. Its perfectly paced, wonderfully narrated and you get pulled into the characters lives with ease. It would make a great TV show.

I’ve never not enjoyed a Jane Fallon book so I had high hopes. It didn’t disappoint. Loved the main character and the narrator made her very believable. It was an entertaining story and kept me interested until the end. Definitely a lovely summer listen!

I love listening to books from Jane Fallon.
I was hooked straight away. I realise that Queen Bee's are just older Mean Girls!!!

This book was good, the only problem that annoyed me was the 'Americanisms' like 'Rad' or 'Batchelorette Party' and 'Along the Block' when we say ''Thats Cool' or 'Hen Night' and 'he lives just down the road'

Also I didn't understand why the main character Laura said her ex-husband was an only child and his parents died leaving him the sole beneficiary of their will but then in a different chapter her daughter Betsy went with her Daddy/ the ex-husband to visit his Brother, wife and children!!!😲😲😲 I wish there was continuaty. UPDATE: I HAVE LISTENED TO THE BOOK AGAIN AND IT'S LAURA THAT IS AN ONLY CHILD WHILST HER EX-HUSBAND HAS 1 BROTHER ~ SORRY, MY BAD.

I did love Jo Joyner narrating the story she was really good at it. I would recommend this listen as the book is really good and I loved the twist at the end although I would never get envolved in my neighbours private business like Laura did but I felt she was forced too, as she had to clear her name.
