Summary
M'lady's name is Shadowless, cos she's the fastest ship in the sky. And she ain't no everyday airship, she's an aethership, meaning she don't need engines nor turbines nor nowt but an aethermancer and the stars t' guide her.
When luckless Dil falls half-dead onto the deck of the skyship Shadowless, he joins an outlaw crew haunted by visions of maelstrom. Driven by a ruthless captain, guided by a pilot with madness in her eyes, they hunt the power that holds up the clouds. Until it turns - to hunt them.

Wonderful steampunk
It took me only a short moment to get into the language but once I did it was magical. The story is crafted beautifully and draws you in. I don't think it would work if usual language and phrases were used. Reading Alexis Hall are great but listing to them brings a whole new level.
Nicholas Boulton does a brilliant job with the narration. He brings the characters to life and draws out their personality and unique accents
I would totally recommend this listening to this book.

Such a wonderful story, and perfect narration.
Just realised I didn't leave a review, and now having given myself a really good smack, can only highly recommend this rip-roaring steampunk tale of derring-do, krakens, sky pirates, filthy villains and a precocious guttersnipe named Piccadilly. Magical!!
As far as Nicholas Boulton's narration is concerned, perfection personified. The Geordie accent is a complicated thing [well, for those of us who aren't Geordies that is 😉], and to pull off Dil's thick Geordie accent, Milord's educated vowels and ethereal Byron Kae's dreamy tones takes some doing...of course, Nicholas succeeds brilliantly.
