Summary
I should know better than to let Tessa McDaniels pretend to be my fiancée.
I’m a dark, dangerous disaster who leaves destruction in his wake.
But when she offers to pretend to marry me to help me get my kids back, I can’t refuse. They are the one thing I have left to fight for.
Milo Hendricks found me at my lowest.
Battered and broken by my ex with no place to call home. When he insists I stay at his cabin with him, he sparks the feelings I’ve tried to suppress.
He’s only supposed to be my friend, but every time he comes in the room, he makes my knees weak.
This gorgeous, tatted, mountain of a man who’s riddled with secrets.
Tessa is everything I crave but can’t have.
I shouldn’t touch her. Shouldn’t make it real. But she’s a redheaded flame I can’t resist, and I can’t help but take her to my bed.
Now we’re falling into an abyss of passion and need.
Loving her is easy. Only we’re tied in ways we don’t know.
I’ll do anything to protect her, but it’s my past that might destroy her in the end....

Outstanding Story & Narration🎧Gripping & Emotional
A.L. Jackson pens another amazing novel that not only captivated my attention the entire book, but it tugged on my heartstrings too. I loved the originality of this story and how Jackson put her own unique spin on the single dad and fake fiancé trope. Also loved the complexity of the characters and how well they developed they are, the world building is phenomenal too. Milo, a bounce at Absolution, is a broken man constantly battling guilt and his inner demons. His in-laws won custody of his two children, Remi and Scout, his pride and joy and he would love to have them back with him, but his in-laws will never let that happen, they hated him from the moment they met him, he was not good enough for their daughter. No one knew why Tessa stayed with her loser boyfriend for so long but she finally left him, it was Milo who found her waiting outside the club for her friend, but it was Milo who saw her on the road and stopped for her. She had nowhere to go, and after explaining her situation, he brought her home. These two are opposites in many ways, she is like sunshine on a cloudy day, he is the cloudy day. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but he can’t go there with her, he is no good and not worthy of her or being loved. She sees how much he wants his children and comes up with a plan so he could get them back. Her ex, Carl, will not let her go that easy, Milo is there to protect her, but she fears Carl will cause problems for him. When Milo’s past comes back to haunt him, he needs to do what is best for Tessa, and that is letting her go. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a wonderfully plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and a steamy romance. A.L. Jackson, thank you for another amazing story that will stay with me for a very long time and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, A.L. Jackson could not have choses a better cast to bring her characters and story to life. Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor made a great team, their voices complement each other and their portrayal of the characters was spot on. Crais brought out all sides of Milo’s personality, from his tormented soul to an alpha grump to his caring and fierce protective side. Brentmoor also grasped all sides of Tessa’s personality, from her sass to her caring side, she played the role with perfection. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters, including the children. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to, their narration enhances and already exceptional story another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Tessa and Milo are so cute! 😭 I’ve been rooting for both of them to get their HEAs since book one of this series and seeing it finally unfold was amazing! I absolutely adore Tessa’s kind heart and her ability to just love everyone. Milo is so strong and is just the perfect grumbly protector. I think this book is the perfect mix of sweet romance and that rip your heart out longing. It was full of twists and surprises. I definitely recommend this whole series!

Amazing
I know it’s early in the year but my goodness, this book is definitely a favorite. Milo, oh, my Milo, is swoony and strong, also alpha, but with the sweetest side ever. And Tessa? She was funny, irrepressible and awesome as she has been throughout the series. I am so happy she got her HEA. And the way to her HEA was full of tears. So. Many. Tears. So many parts of my heart hurt and I searched frantically for a tissue. So many parts I wanted to scream at the unfairness of it all. But I ended this story with a big smile because this book has so much heart. What a wonderful story. And throw in the narration by Craig and Samantha Brentmoor who were perfectly cast! I absolutely love listening to them playing all the parts beautifully, switching characters effortlessly and infusing their narration with emotion. A fantastic listen for an amazing story.

Mad, Mad Love!
Mad, Mad Love for Tessa and Milo. Like everything A.L. Jackson writes, she took me out at the knees for this one.
Promise Me Always by A.L. Jackson left me awestruck. Book 4 in the Redemption Hills series we finally get to devour Milo and Tessa in this single dad, fake fiancé romance. Jackson had me sucked in from the start – I a little bit of angst and all the sexual tension. The chemistry in this book is captivating. You fall in love with these characters instantly.
I was lucky enough to listen to the audio for this book and I was blown away. We all know that Samantha Brentmoor is a top babe for me – her performance in the book left me shook. I felt every single emotion she poured into Tessa. The power and pain she portrayed for us was by far a top performance from her.
And of course, what is there not to say about Connor Crais. Broody, burly single dad Milo just trying to keep himself afloat. Connor gave us all of Milos strength, his guilt and his determination to make sure everyone in his life is taken care of.
My heart was left in Redemption Hills – Every book was just so much better than the one before it.
Side note Juni and Gage are adorable and I love them. (Juni please don’t break his heart!)

Two lost souls find each other
Milo and Tessa each have heartbreaking stories. Milo a bit more than Tessa, in my opinion. Throughout the book, we get the flashbacks of Milo's previous life and it's beautiful and so achingly sad at the same time. Milo offers Tessa a safe place to land after she finds the courage to leave her POS boyfriend. However, it's really Tessa that gives Milo the peace that he needs to let go and live.
The audiobook was phenomenal. Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais did an amazing job with these characters and bringing the book to life. Samantha's performance of Tessa was so spot on and her deliverance of Tessa's feelings made them palpable. Connor's growly voice give to Milo was absolute perfection. I couldn't imagine Milo any other way.
I absolutely do recommend this book, even if you haven't read or listened to the rest of the Redemption Hills series. Milo and Tessa have one of those love stories that feels destined to be, despite all the obstacles that came before.

This was such a beautiful story!
I knew I was going to want Tessa's happily ever after after listening to Never Look Back and this story was just beautiful. I fell completely head over heels for Milo. I don't know how you wouldn't. He's so tormented but has such an amazing soul. I also love fake engagements and this one was perfect. Milo has a troubled past but then so does Tessa and together these two fight for it all and stand by each other through everything. The emotions this story brought out of me were intense and I loved every second of it. The narrators were phenomenal, Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor brought these characters to life and were the perfect Milo and Tessa. I cannot say enough good things about this story and audiobook! I loved it!
