Summary
This is the Prince Harry you've never heard about before. Published in celebration of his 30th birthday, this is the story behind the tabloid stories. The Prince who has the power to make or break. The maverick Prince, who is brilliant, impetuous, and unpredictable. The Prince who with his unique talents, charm, and bloody-minded determination is changing lives across the world. But the Prince who could, in a moment of madness, bring it all crashing down.
He is the redhead that Diana called 'the spare', whose childhood was one of chaos and loss; the little boy walking behind his mother's cortege who broke our hearts. This is the story of how he survived the loss and chaos; how he lived in the shadow of his older, cleverer, more important brother - until suddenly he discovered there was something he could do better than almost anyone. This is the story of how the troubled teenager grew into a leader of men, a soldier, a pilot, an adventurer, and a passionate champion of those who are in danger of being destroyed or forgotten.
Written with the help of many of the most important people in his life, this is the first authoritative biography of this most delightful, charismatic and dangerous of the Queen's grandsons.

Do not judge an audiobook by its narrator alone.
The author narrated this book. I found her continual emphasis of words extremely irritating. In my opinion the audiobook would be an easier listen if a professional narrator had taken the role.
Having said that I enjoyed the content which was an insight to Prince Harry and his works albeit in the style of hero worshipping ...... putting that to one side, it was an interesting listen.

A clear and concise biography of the Prince.
Penny Junor doesn't have an unkind word to say about the Prince and forgives all of his trespasses.
I agree with most of this as he was a young man when his misdemeanours occurred and the Press were just looking for any slight problem on which to report.
Overall I think the story explains how he has turned from an unruly yuppie to a responsible and caring individual hell-bent on helping needy people be they orphans in Africa or injured soldiers.

Penny - get a professional to do the audio!!
Very patronising posh mummy voice spoilt what could have been a reasonable book. I almost didn't make it to the end, which for an avid audio listener is almost unheard of!!
