Summary
A charming friends-to-lovers rom-com from the author of the TikTok sensation, The Cheat Sheet.
When the owner of the local flower shop in Rome, Kentucky, makes a questionable agreement with a tattooed bad boy, a delightful friends-to-lovers romance begins to bloom - from the author of When in Rome and TikTok sensation, The Cheat Sheet.
Annie Walker is on a quest to find her perfect match - someone who nicely compliments her happy, quiet life running her flower shop in Rome, Kentucky. Unfortunately, she worries her goal might be too far out of reach when she overhears her date saying she is 'sounbelievably boring'. Is it too late to become flirtatious and fun like the leading ladies in her favourite romance movies? Maybe she only needs a little practice...and Annie has the perfect person in mind to become her tutor: Will Griffin.
Will - the flirtatious, tattooed, and absolutely gorgeous bodyguard - is temporarily back in Rome, providing security for Amelia Rose as excitement grows for her upcoming marriage to Noah Walker. He has one personal objective during his time in town: stay away from Annie Walker. But no sooner than he gets settled, Will soon finds himself not only breaking his rule, but tasked with far more than simply providing security.
Will wants no part in changing the sweet and lovely Annie, but he can't bring himself to say no to her request, so he officially agrees to teach her how to be the next leading lady of Rome, Kentucky, and find the love of her life - even if he doesn't believe in love himself. Between faking a relationship so the meddling town doesn't catch on to what's really happening on their practice dates, and tutoring lessons that convince Annie to add passion to her list of must-haves in a mate, it doesn't take long for the lines of their friendship to blur...

Sarah Adams I think I love you a little bit more with every book you write. This story made my little introvert heart sigh with delight.
I am so so so pleased we got to go back to Rome! Annie and Will just made me smile so much. This was one of those stories to get lost in and forget the world around you. I adored the small town vibes mixed with fake dating, bodyguard romance and a dose of exploring who you really are. It was just a big hug in book form. Annie was such a great FMC. She is shy untill you get to know her and struggles to get close to men. In steps Will her brothers fiancé's bodyguard who steps in to help teach her how to relax and be herself on dates. These 2 were adorable together. Annie pushes Will to open and and Will helps Annie realise that she's pretty damn perfect as she is and that she can enjoy what she loves for herself. They were a great match and I loved how the story panned out especially with the meddling small town neighbours. There were some great laugh out loud moments and some that really tugged at my heart strings. I think this is my favourite book by Sarah yet and I really really really hope we get to go back to Rome again, I'm not ready to leave just yet.

I loved watching the bad boy bodyguard fall, cause when he finally did, oh boy he fell hard!
This was such a sweet book! I loved being back in Rome Kentucky with the Walker fam 🫶🏼
You think you know “sweet angel Annie” from When In Rome, but I was so happy to see her true self in Practice Makes Perfect! She’s hidden her true self from her family and friends all her life, but I loved how Will just swoops in (like her fantasy pirate) and truly SEES her! He was just what she needed to come out of her shell, and I was so darn proud of her!
I also loved Will’s story! He didn’t believe in love, yet still wanted to help Annie find it. He was so patient with her and pushed her when he felt she needed it. I loved watching the bad boy bodyguard fall, cause when he finally did, oh boy he fell hard!
It was such a cute story about finding yourself and letting yourself choose what’s right for you, and not living for what others want.
P.S. I’m so excited for Maddie and James’s story!! 😍

Great storyline
I love a dual narrator romance, but it feels like each narrator never listened to what the other sounded like. I felt like while the story was well written, the way they voiced it gave it a slightly disjointed feel. Annie would speak more slowly, but Will would have Annie talking faster, and it just kept taking me out of the book. Individually great narrators but together not so much. Story was great though. Loved the small town vibe and the banter between the characters

hearing their POV
it was great having the male and female voices reading their POV, helped with imagery. Ive already read the book, but hearing "their voices" made it much more.

So good!
I liked the first book in the series well enough but I LOVED this sequel. This book encapsulated a perfect romcom with swoony romance and hilarious moments. The baseball game had me laughing out. Totally recommend to those needing a sweet fix with thoroughly likable main characters. Also with the addition of two love interests with differing life goals communicating openly and honestly. So refreshing.

A soft and sweet romance
Just like it’s main character this is a very soft and sweet romance, not that Annie would be happy with that description. It’s a lovely sequel to the first book in the series but could be read as a stand alone. This book has made me fall in love with Rome, Kentucky even more. Looking forward to another instalment.
