About this listen
Poetry is a flood. It comes in the still of nature and rises to inundate your surroundings. Someone said that a person who writes poetry after the age of 22 is "yes" a Poet. Verse, stanza, music evolves like any other living thing. A voice distinguishes the stuff of the verse, and after a while style emerges.
I am a writer's writer. I do this to encourage others who may have a poetry "geist" going on. And this is a full year's worth of poems, now completed, spanning over 30 years of verses written on napkins, envelopes, spiral notebooks, yellow pads...and on the Internet. Remember, there are many, many ways to eat grapes.... You can even drink them. Pay attention to the rising water.
