So heartwarming!

This story was so full of love it made me tear up. The author still holds so much affection in her heart for this in credible animal and it shows. It truly was the friendship of a lifetime. This gave me such fond memories of my dogs and made me miss them every more. I think every dog lover and appreciates the unique bond that the author describes in this emotionally vulnerable story. I loved it and I'm going to pass it on to my sister who will adore it also.

Just wow!

This audiobook is humorous and enjoyable to listen to. I adored how well thought-out and well-crafted this story was. I was taken on a lovely journey by the author, one in which I was able to feel every feeling that comes with being an animal lover and dog owner.

For so long, my children have worried me about getting a dog. When they want to make fun of me, they usually recommend getting a fish. When I was listening to this audiobook, I made a terrible mistake for playing it aloud. Off course they are on spring brake. I didn't realize they were listening, but now that I think about it, I just got myself into trouble. because I've found it to be chaotic. The breed they desire, the kind of food to buy for it, and even who will be taking the dog for walks each day of the week are all being discussed all over me. Really? All those plans for something we still haven't received? What I'm trying to say is that THIS AUTHOR WAS THE CAUSE OF MY PROBLEM!

I NEED HELP!

Any animal lover will benefit much from reading this book, especially those who consider their animals to be more than just pets.

Heartwarming Listen for dog lovers

This was such a wonderful book. It is undeniable that for those who have and love their pets their are like children to us. Our dog is a truly wonderful creature and he has not once failed in protecting us and specially my four year old from dangers as we often cottage in a wooded area with lots of wild animals. I cannot bear the thought of one day losing him but listening to this incredible story gives you perspective. That they are here for a purpose and their experience here although shorter than ours is just as precious. I loved this book and will pass it along to my dog loving friends and family!

Dogs are a gift sent from heaven

I love heart-warming stories and I love dog stories which makes this a perfect listen for me. We truly don’t deserve dogs. That being said, this is not all sunshine and rainbows. There is definitely tragedy in this story so be prepared for that. Anyone grieving the loss of a beloved pet can find solace in this story knowing they are not alone and that there is hope for after. Loved it and will definitely listen again.

A heartfelt story of a very special dog!

There are so many special animals in our lives, but the dog/person relationships run deep! Such a beautiful and heartfelt story of a woman and her magical Moose, a gentle German Shepard. I am sure Proust will someday meet Moose again over the rainbow bridge and resume their special bond. Sweet and gentle story that brought tears to my eyes!

A story we can all relate to

I am a sucker for books about animals. I myself have 4 dogs and several other species of animals. I see all animals that I have cared for as part of my family so much so that each of them are cremated once they pass and I keep them with me in a room that I frequently am in. I absolutely love how this book was written. The author did a great job of organizing the story to keep us hooked all the way to the very end. The details provided in The Hardest Day To Face made you feel like you were right there with them watching the scene unfold. It is also amazing how people come together when animals truly are in need. For anyone who has not had to go through the process of losing an animal, this book represents everything we feel during that moment. One topic that really touched me that I had not thought about is when the author discusses how trying to grieve for an animal can sometimes be shut down by those around you. I have had friends who just didn't know what to say as they are not as big of an animal lover as I am and it just made me feel that I could not talk about my animal with them. My husband luckily has a heart as big of mine for animals so I can talk to him openly but whether it's an animal or human, let people grieve. Do not make it uncomfortable for them just because it's uncomfortable for you.

A gem of a book

A beautiful love letter for Moose and for any dog lover. Who hasn’t thought about writing about how much they love their special friend? As well as memorable stories the book also covers some great tips on allergies and toys, and of course how it feels when that diagnosis comes. This is a lovely book to listen to, almost meditative, and as my old girl, one of the most special dogs I will ever know, slowly moves towards the day she won’t be here, I listened and smiled and felt so much better. Just a gem of a listen.
