As a young officer in the Marines and one of the few Black leaders in my unit, perfectionism wasn’t just a mindset. it felt like survival. One mistake could ruin everything. I graduated with honors from every military school and obsessed over my physical fitness scores, even though I was fit from running track. But strength training wasn’t part of my routine, and I always worried I wasn’t enough. I overthought every comment, every glance, always watching for traps I knew were set for me.

This audiobook pulled those memories to the surface in a way that felt both validating and healing. It didn’t just talk about perfectionism. This book connected it directly to the anxiety I carried for years and directly contributed to my PTSD.

The narrator, Brian Morrow, delivers the message with a calm, thoughtful tone that makes the material feel personal and supportive.

If you’ve ever felt the pressure to be flawless just to survive, this book offers a much-needed breath of freedom.

I have suffered from anxiety to some degree and my wife really does, so when we had a chance to listen to Perfectly Anxious No More, we took the time to sit down together. We have learnt so much throughout the book. This link between anxiety and perfectionism is something I was subconsciously aware of but to have it laid out tin such a well structured way was like having a weight lifted off our shoulders. We found the chapters on all or nothing thinking and Inability to create success so game changing. It's made us look at some of our deep inner issues but also helped us to start changing out behaviour towards these. The free PDF is also a great bonus!

The step-by-step guidance made the idea of change feel hopeful and possible. I really enjoyed the mindfulness practices to manage stress and quiet that harsh inner critic, creating space for more positivity and growth. The book balances psychological insight with real solutions you can actually use in everyday life. I am creating better habits and catching the negative, to switch it with the positive.

I picked up this audiobook because I was tired of living on a tightrope made of to‑do lists and second‑guessing myself. Right from the first chapter I found myself nodding along. The descriptions of overthinking, endless prep, and never feeling finished nailed exactly how I operate. What I appreciated most is that it does not just point out the problem, it breaks that perfectionism‑anxiety loop into clear pieces and offers small steps that feel doable even when my brain is running full speed.

The sections on realistic goal setting and CBT techniques gave me tools I could try the same day. I have already started challenging my all‑or‑nothing thinking and, surprisingly, letting myself leave a project at “good enough” without spiraling. The mindfulness tips helped too; they are short enough that I actually stick with them. I even learned about possible vitamin links I had never considered. This audiobook made a difference in my life and it will for you too!

I always felt like I had to be perfect. It made me anxious. I worried about everything. I found this book by Joyce (one of my favorite authors). It talks about how perfectionism causes anxiety. It gives ways to stop these habits. It felt like someone understood my struggle.

I overthink everything. I put off tasks. The book explained why. Today, I had a work project. I started to overthink. I remembered the book's advice. I broke the project into small steps. I did one step at a time and finished it. I felt less anxious. This guided helped me change my thinking. It gave me hope. Brian Morrow's voice was steady and easy to follow. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
