About this listen

He had never heard himself scream before. It was terrifying.

Alone, trapped in the darkness and with no way out, Bart Campbell knows that his chances of being found alive are slim.

Drugged and kidnapped from his Edinburgh home, the realisation soon dawns that he’s been locked inside a shipping container - but what Bart doesn’t know is that he’s now heading for France, where his unspeakable fate is already sealed....

DCI Ava Turner and DI Luc Callanach are working on separate cases that soon collide as it becomes clear that the men and women being shipped to France are being traded for women trafficked into Scotland.

With so many lives at stake, it seems an impossible task - but there’s no option of failure when Bart and so many others will soon be dead....

The next gripping thriller from the best-selling crime author Helen Fields.

The perfect read for fans of M. J. Arlidge and Karin Slaughter.

Critic reviews

"Perfect Kill is a compelling breathless read. Unflinching, brave and so well researched and considered." (Essie Fox)

"Utterly compelling, as ever, and dizzyingly twisted, with characters so real they could step off the page." (BP Walter)

Cannot get enough of this series. Already wanting the next one. Speech of some individual French male characters was difficult to differentiate sometimes but overall Robin Laing rose brilliantly to the challenge of a large cast of characters - creating a discernibly different and memorable voices. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

One of the best set of book series I have ever listened to. All the characters within the story made the stories come to life. I could go on and on. If you like crime thrillers, love stories and suspense please listen/ read these books. 10 out of 10.

Love this series

For the first hour or so I suffered a small amount of déjà vu, the story seemed so generic that I was certain I'd heard it before, however, around the 90 minute mark, it started to grow into a great behemoth of a tale, pure thrills all the way through with Robin Laing giving a marvellous performance as usual.

I highly recommend this book to all fans of the series, all newcomers too as it could be read as a standalone, but better to start at book one which is also fabulous.

The characters in this series are like old friends and I enjoy seeing them develop. The writing is sublime as is the Story telling. Just can’t wait for the next offering.

Another good one. Sad there isn’t another to look forward to. Disappointed that they still didn’t get together!!

Fantastic again! Love these stories.

I have become so involved with the characters and the topics in the story are very relevant in today's world of human trafficking etc. could not stop listening.

sorry to hear this is the last in the series!

If you've listened to/read the previous five books in the Callanach series, you already know Perfect Kill is going to be outstanding and don't need a review from me to confirm it for you, so just buy it. If you are new to the series then (a) go and buy the others now, (b) read/listen to them in order, and then (c) buy this. Helen Fields and Robin Laing are the best there is by an absolute country mile - that's all you need to know.

Just Buy It
