Summary
Scott Sigler's Infected shocked listeners with a visceral, up-close account of physical metamorphosis and one man's desperate fight for sanity and survival, as "Scary" Perry Dawsey suffered the impact of an alien pathogen's early attempts at mass extinction. In the sequel Contagious, Sigler pulled back the camera and let the listener experience the frantic national response to this growing cataclysm.
And now in Pandemic, the entire human race balances on the razor's edge of annihilation, beset by an enemy that turns our own bodies against us, that changes normal people into psychopaths or transforms them into nightmares.
To some, Doctor Margaret Montoya is a hero-a brilliant scientist who saved the human race from an alien intelligence determined to exterminate all of humanity. To others, she's a monster - a mass murderer single-handedly responsible for the worst atrocity ever to take place on American soil.
All Margaret knows is that she's broken. The blood of a million deaths is on her hands. Guilt and nightmares have turned her into a shut-in, too mired in self-hatred even to salvage her marriage, let alone be the warrior she once was.
But she is about to be called into action again. Because before the murderous intelligence was destroyed, it launched one last payload - a soda can-sized container filled with deadly microorganisms that make humans feed upon their own kind.
That harmless-looking container has languished a thousand feet below the surface of Lake Michigan, undisturbed and impotent...until now.
Part Cthulhu epic, part zombie apocalypse and part blockbuster alien-invasion tale, Pandemic completes the Infected trilogy and sets a new high-water mark in the world of horror fiction.

A Trilogy Triumph
If you read book 1 and 2 you have to hear how it ends. All are action movies. Book 1 was a personal war story, Book 2, a war story brought to a city scape. Book 3 turns that city into the epicentre of Armageddon.

what a way to go!
Where does Pandemic rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
best audiobook of 2014 so far
Who was your favorite character and why?
doctor feely good! such a contrast of characters traits all mixed up in one person makes for unexpected twists in the story
What about Phil Gigante’s performance did you like?
I first heard Phil Gigante perform Scott Siglers NOCTURNAL and it took me a couple of episodes to get used to his voice as its so deep, but he is very professional and draws you into the narrative until your fingers are clenched and your waiting with baited breath for what's coming next!
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
its an apocalyptic story so its going to have its gory moments that fill you with revulsion and fright , but it also has its lighter side that made me laugh out loud and a few where the story brought a tear to my eye
Any additional comments?
this is the 3rd in a trilogy so if you haven't read(heard) the first two I would definitely urge you to seek out the first two, if you haven't heard of scary Perry Dawsy and his eye watering scene with the chicken scissors then you haven't lived!

Triangles are back!!!
Firstly, I listened to the other books in the series on podcast where Scott Sigler does the narration. Sometimes he sounded a little crazy with the different voices but I grew to love it as he gave his characters the personality he wanted with their tone and pitch so when I listened to this, although it was still read well I felt a little detached from the characters because they weren't quite as I remembered them. That being said it was still nice to find out what happened to the world in the end and the characters we had come to love or hate from the previous books. It felt unnecessarily long to me but I'm still a fan. In conclusion it is well read but too long in my opinion.

Great end to the trilogy
if this kind of thing (sci-fi/action/horror) is your kind of thing, I'd recommend the trilogy. Good characters and plot plus some enjoyable scenes

Fitting Conclusion
Although a little more long winded than the first 2 books in the trilogy once this gets going, it gets going. As I'd listened to Sigler narrate the 1st 2 books I was disappointed he didn't narrate this one but the narration was really enjoyable.
