Beautiful story
I have this book on audio and have listened to it about 7 times it never gets old I love it I love all my audio books but this is one of my all time favourites I think that it's amazingly rad and a great and gripping story and very emotive

Amazing
This audio book is absolutely brilliant and I love it so much. I would say that it is for 12 and over as it is quite sad at some points( especially the end ). I recommend it if you like history. I 💜 it!!

Classic Wilson heroine in the 1900s
This book is good for slightly older readers than Tracey Beaker. The story is full of interesting historical details from the social and economic history of the turn of the last century. Opal is a classic Wilson heroine; intelligent, brave and emotionally literate and enjoyable to read about as she journeys from being a scholarship girl to working in a sweet factory to finding her vocation. An education and an enjoyable delight!
