This book gives an in-depth overview of how friendship works - and why it sometimes does not work, breaks down or fades. But most of all, the author gives detailed thoughtful advice about how to change our own patterns of behaviour so we can develop lasting and nourishing relationships. The author is an experienced life coach and she shares examples from her own life as well as stories from others she has surveyed to illustrate the points she makes. Talking about friendship issues is often difficult and needs candour. It can be embarrassing. However the author leads us through the process of acknowledging our own mistakes and suggests that we should face up to awkward difficulties in order to progress through them, not run away from them. I think if you follow the advice in this excellent book, you will become a happier, more secure person with a supportive circle of friends. The book comes out of workshops the author has led, and it would be a solid and inspiring manual for anyone setting up a friendship group or workshop.

Excellent Manual of Friendship
