From the Teasmade to the TomTom, mankind has been on a constant hunt for gimmicks that make life easier, faster and more entertaining, and as yesterday's 'must-haves' become today's museum pieces, there's no better time to take a nostalgic trip through tech's back catalogue.

A whistle stop tour of a whole lot of fun!
Peter Leigh is the Youtuber known as Nostalgia Nerd and it shows. This book is a fabulously researched, informed and well written whistle stop tour of some of the most defining gadgets of the last few decades. Covering everything from the early micro computer boom of the eighties to some of the must haves of the new millennium. Written in a light hearted humorous style and excellently narrated by the man himself, this is a trip down memory lane you won't want to miss. My only wish is that he had in hand some of the more novelty gadgets so we could hear samples, but YouTube more than makes up for that deficiency. If you were a child of the seventies, eighties or nineties then you'll find much to enjoy here, and for those who missed out then you can learn about some of the most defining gadgets that paved the way for the technology we take for granted today. P.S. Buy the eBook as well which contains lots of illustrations which really enhances the experience. Nice work.

An enjoyable romp through my childhood and beyond.
I would not consider myself a technophile, or even overly materialistic. But it was amazing how many of these items I have either owned or remember others owning. The memories came back thick and fast. A truly enjoyable listen.
Too many comma’s in this audiobook!!
