About this listen

No Obvious Cause is the second instalment in the Dublin Murder mystery series and will appeal to fans of authors such as Peter James, L. J. Ross and Ruth Rendall.

A murder followed by a series of random, motiveless crimes leaves Detective Garda Sergeant Mike West and his team puzzled. When Edel Johnson arrives at the scene of a crime Mike is taken aback, more so when he discovers she is now working with a victim support group. He has feelings for her, but he is the garda who investigated her husband's murder, and their relationship is complicated.

With crime in Dublin’s suburbs at an all-time high and his superiors breathing down his neck, West doesn't need the distraction.

But someone wants Edel out of the way, and it's up to West to find out who....

Love this series and the narration is perfect too. I was gripped by the first book, the second has carried the story on between the main characters beautifully.

My new favourite series!

Enjoy the Authors writing style and the murder mystery genre. Glad I read book one as it is a continuation.

Great writing

Although this book is listed as a psychological thriller, I feel it is more an atypical Whodunit crime story. The only bug bare for me is the monotone drone of the Narrator. Speaking in a very staccato tone. Very, very distracting and spoils the overall enjoyment of the story

Another very listenable story with a touch of romance.

The narrator was brilliant and drew you into the story and you felt like you knew the characters involved and became part of the journey

Outstanding story

Intriguing story and likeable characters. Thoroughly enjoyed this and some of the banter between the police colleagues made me laugh.

I have enjoyed this second Dublin mystery and can't wait for the next one. Valerie Keogh is a brilliant storyteller. I love the Irish accent of the narrator.

The second one in the series I've listened to and enjoyed both books. Enjoying tha characters and the twists and turns. Love the narration. Perfect for an Irish setting and able to handle different accents without silly voices for the females. Hoping the next book won't involve a woman that needs saving from herself though. 😆

good storyline and narrator
