About this listen
Alex Lake’s day job is all about helping people, especially children. She cares about them passionately and does everything in her power to rescue them from those who mean them harm.
When the case of three-year-old Ottilie Wade comes to her attention, Alex finds herself completely unable to detach from the child the way she should. She feels an overpowering need to make a real difference in little Ottilie’s life, but no one is prepared to believe that Ottilie is in danger.
In the end, Alex makes a decision that has consequences for her, her family and Ottilie - consequences that no one, least of all Alex, could have foreseen.

If you could sum up No Child of Mine in three words, what would they be?
Insightful, gripping, unforgetableWhat was one of the most memorable moments of No Child of Mine?
The first time Little Otilly spoke.Have you listened to any of Julia Franklin’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I particularly enjoyed Julia's narration. She gave all the characters unique ways of speaking that you almost felt they were in the room with you.Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I couldn't put it down once I had started. I often found myself worrying about little Otilly when doing my chores at home and I often had to pinch my self to remind myself that she was not real.Any additional comments?
This book is unforgettable, and if you choose to read it, Please read the sequel "Don't let me go" I had to take a break from reading for at least one week as I needed time to detach myself from the lives of the characters. Susan Lewis gave all the characters enough depth to enable the reader to empathise with them. She did not sugarcoat their misery and where there was joy, it was explosively expressed. An unforgettable read!

A really good listen
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
My only other criticism is of the narrator..she was actually very good but given the main character was late 20s, the narrator’s voice was much older & didn’t fit which I found got on my nerves a bit although it didn’t ruin it or anything
Decent listen
