Summary

A new kind of thriller, gritty, vivid and menacing, with a pace that never lets up.

Nick Stone left the Special Air Service in 1988, soon after the shooting of three IRA terrorists in Gibraltar. Now working for British Intelligence on deniable operations, he discovers the seemingly senseless murders of a fellow SAS soldier and his family in Washington, DC. Only a seven-year-old daughter, Kelly, has survived – and the two of them are immediately on the run from unidentified pursuers. Stone doesn’t even know which of them is the target.

On his own, Stone stands a chance of escape. But he needs to protect the girl and together they plunge into a dark world of violence and corruption in which friend cannot be told from foe. As events draw to their blazing and unexpected climax, Stone discovers the shocking truth about governments, terrorism and commerce – and the greed that binds the three together…

Remote Control is a new kind of thriller, gritty, vivid and menacing, with a pace that never lets up. Other thriller writers talk the talk. Only McNab has the walk.

Good

Nice story and Jack's narration is as always excellent. Enjoyed the listening although it is a bit too short. Looking forward to the next book in this series,

Read this review

I enjoy listening to Nick Stone so much that after making my way through the entire series (14 books or so) I am now making my way through all of the abridged versions.

Even after all these years I am still a die hard Mcnab/Stone fanatic. Going back through the earlier stories I can really appreciate the raw toughness and grit, things that are particularly predominant in the earlier books.

Remote Control is one of the most enjoyable books I’ve ever read. It will shock you and keep you on the edge of your seat, whether its abridged or not. Spend a credit on this I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Too short

I read the hard copy when first published and loved every word. This audio publication leaves me feeling robbed. How can anyone associated with this audio book be proud of it?

Really disappointing

I wish it was made clear it was a massively shorted version and only included 8 chapters out of a 42 chapter book.
I’ve had to go and spend another credit on the same book, the only way to guess i was getting the full version was to check the overall narration time. In the app there is no option to see how many chapters are included.

Anyway, lesson learned. You have to be super careful and irony of all ironies, not judge a book by it’s cover.

This is way below par for Andy McNab

Normally his stories are a lot more fun to read.
This one was short and shallow. This could be a short story.

Ridiculous

Whilst no doubt a good book, taking us back to 97 and the first installment of the Nick Stone dtory line. This particular audio is a joke, only providing the first 8 chapters of a 42 chapter book. I am extremely unhappy!
