Oh be still me my heart! Everyone should find a Deacon! After her controlling father tried to get her to marry overbearing and mean Robert, Ramsey stands up for herself and leaves home to start life over. Her aunt takes her in, but she is determined to be self sufficient taking on several jobs and trying to find her way. Her best friend Palmer convinces her to do a blind date photo shoot with none other than Palmer's lawyer brother Deacon. Instant chemistry there, so much fun and a chance for a future? Deacon,the workaholic doesn't think so in the beginning. Too young, his best friend's cousin, his sister's best friend, all these things working against them. Then why is he so drawn to her? Ramsey is smitten with Deacon, but with her past, will she be able to give herself completely to him? Or anyone? This is a sweet romance, full of passion and friendship. It's a story of coming of age, finding yourself and your forever. I fell in love with these two during the photo shoot and for me I was sold!

Bringing this gem to life is Jack Maverick and Lexi Mae. A first time listen for both, I enjoyed both of their voices and their portrayal of the characters. Maverick has a warmth in his voice that shows in the patience Deacon has, exuding the love without it being over the top. Very realistic. Mae has an innocence in her voice, perfect for Ramsey! These two are perfectly cast and made for a wonderful listen.

Ramsey has had an uncaring and abusive upbringing, but she has managed to gain the strength to break away to forge her own life in Willow Springs. Deacon, a self-confessed workaholic, falls for the kind, vulnerable young woman and the rest is a long, drawn-out journey to their HEA. Both Lexi Mae and Jack Maverick narrate well. They infuse animation into the story. An overall 3.5 stars for me. 💖💖💖

Never With Me is a sweet age-gap romance. Ramsey grew up in a household where she was never given any choices or any control over her own life, which ended in her starting over somewhere new. She works three jobs so she can be independent and never have to rely on anyone again.

Deacon is an attorney who is working his life away. He spends his life at the office trying to prove he has what is needed to take over the firm one day.

Deacon's sister, who is also Ramsey's best friend, sets them up together for a blind date photo shoot, and the results are explosive. Their chemistry is undeniable, and sets them down a path that will change their futures forever.

I adored Deacon. He was patient, kind, sweet, nurturing and just absolutely swoon-worthy, as are most of this author's heroes. He went above and beyond to see what Ramsey needed and give it to her. I also really liked Ramsey. She had a difficult past, but worked extremely hard to try and move past it and make things better for her future, and she saw something amazing in Deacon, and while she was nervous, she didn't push him away. I loved the relationships between Deacon and his sister, Palmer, and Ramsey's friendship with Palmer and how close all three of them were.

Although this was an age-gap book and the age-gap was mentioned many times, I feel like it was different than other age-gap books I have read, and I have read a lot as they are my favorite. Deacon and Ramsey's age-gap was almost a non-issue, but maybe it is just my preference more for age-gap stories where there is more of an impact or there is a bit of a taboo aspect to the story. The story was still well written and engaging and I very much enjoyed it!

This audiobook was highly enjoyable. Jack Maverick and Lexi Mae did a wonderful job with the narration of this story as Deacon and Ramsey and bringing this sweet story to life. While I don't believe I have listened to either of them before, I highly enjoyed listening to them and would be listening to them again in the future. #TheFlock #PinkFlamingoProductions

Never With Me is a stand alone contemporary romance novel by Kaylee Ryan. This book is about Ramsey and Deacon, who are set up on a blind date photo shoot. Despite both having been reluctant to agree to the date, they clicked and soon began dating for real. Ramsey had a lot of baggage’s that carried over from her childhood, and Deacon was nothing like people she had grown up with. He goes out of his way to tell and show her this. This was a sweet story with a bit of steam. I enjoyed what an outstanding guy Deacon was and how willing he was to be vulnerable with Ramsey. I especially liked Ramsey’s bravery in trying to date, despite her fears, and in her willingness to give and receive love. The audiobook was well narrated and the narrators brought the story to life. This was a best friend’s brother/little sister’s best friend, best friend’s cousin, age gap contemporary romance novel and I would recommend it for readers who enjoy these tropes. I am voluntarily writing this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Story Origin and Pink Flamingo Productions.

This was a sweet and addictive read! Ramsey's journey from escaping a toxic situation to building her own life was inspiring, and her chemistry with Deacon was palpable. The instant attraction between them was off the charts, and though it was instant love,it fitted the story. Deacon was a swoon-worthy hero, and I couldn't get enough of their story. The book had a heartwarming vibe with some drama involving Ramsey's parents. The writing was beautiful, and the audiobook narration by Jack Maverick and Lexy Mae was fantastic. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves sweet, swoony stories with lovable characters. I can't wait to read more from this author!

This was a lovely sweet storyline. With good characters and a strong storyline it really does show that hard work can win. A really good performance from both narrators really did help the storyline slow.
