Der Grat zwischen Genie und Wahnsinn, auf dem der eine oder andere Künstler balanciert ist schmal - sehr schmal. Talent erweist sich ohne Arbeit entweder als völlig wertlos oder als Fluch. Die Hauptfigur ist aus ihrer Sicht über alle Zweifel erhaben, nicht nur, dass das eigene Spiel grandios ist und die anderen Musiker nur kommerzielle Schafsköpfe sind, sondern es ist nur zu verständlich, dass die Ehefrau auch für den Verdienstmoment des Haushalts zuständig ist, damit der große Künstler sich entweder auf seine Kunst oder auf andere Dinge, die ihm wichtig sind konzentrieren kann. Aber die Konfrontation mit der Selbsterkenntnis über seine eigenen künstlerischen Fähigkeiten lauert am Horizont - sie ist nicht weit entfernt - sie kommt näher und näher.
