Summary
A chalice of wisdom for our time. (Ernest L. Rossi, PhD, C.J. Jung Institute of Los Angeles)
Milton H. Erickson has been called the most influential hypnotherapist of our time. Part of his therapy was his use of teaching tales, which through shock, surprise, or confusion - with genius use of questions, puns, and playful humor - helped people to see their situations in a new way. In this audiobook Sidney Rosen has collected over 100 of the tales. Presented verbatim and accompanied by Dr. Rosen's commentary, they are grouped under such headings as Motivating Tales, Reframing, and Capturing the Innocent Eye.
My Voice Will Go with You is skillfully narrated by Brian Arens, an Audible listener favorite.
Produced and published by Echo Point Books & Media, an independent bookseller in Brattleboro, Vermont. ©1982 Sidney Rosen, MD.

interesting Background into Erickson
If you're a hypnotherapist this insight, into the founder of hypnotherapy, is probably essential reading. Some of Erickson's therapies involved the telling of stories that resonated deeply with the individual to create impactful change.
Very interesting and thought-provoking, such as the little girl who steals and the man who stood still for years.

Teaching tales
I love this book I have a hard copy, read it many times. It has been invaluable in my practice as a hypnotherapist over the years so delighted to find it available on Audible. I would highly recommend it

Interesting but...
I think the book would benefit from Erickson’s tales being announced, ie “Tale 1 The naughty child”, and then the authors analysis of the tale also being announced. It’s sometimes difficult to know when one tale ends and the author’s analysis starts. Fascinating man though. Enjoyed it.

A classic
Interesting stories from a different time. Eriksson is definitely the grandfather of hypnotherapy as we know it today.

Brilliant!
Have the Audible and Kindle versions of the book to allow me to read/highlight the words as they are spoken. Doesn't give many clues as to how Erickson sent his clients into trance to achieve the results but it allows you to understand the way his mind worked and give a taste to the practitioner of his ingenious use of metaphors. The book also details other books of interest for the dedicated learner

There is no one like Erickson and so it you are a fan, you would enjoy this book. If you are not a fan, you may just become one. I have listened to this book twice and I am sure to do it again. There is so much to learn from Erickson!
