Summary

A horrifying account of torture and humiliation at the hands of her family, My Firefly will pull you in and grab hold of your spirit. Seen from the perspective of the family home, this young girl struggles to stay alive as she is slowly ripped apart emotionally, physically, and sexually by her father.

You'll experience an abundance of feelings throughout this book and won't be able to put it down. My Firefly is a flicker of light in complete darkness, leading to safety. It is cruel and brutish and bloody. But, if you want inspiration, then listen to My Firefly. It will change your world....

Life affirming

Don't let the sample of this book put you off. The narration is odd, but take my word for it, you'll be so glad you listened on. After a while, its almost impossible to imagine anyone else handling the narration better. Because this story is told from the spirit of the house where Maggie grew up, It makes total sense why Mirron Willis is the best match to read this harrowing story.
This story feels to familiar to me because of the abuse my Mother endured at the hands of her father. She still became a beautiful person and mother, as has Maggie Kirton. I wish the second book was on Audible but I will read it myself instead.
Thank you for sharing your story with us and your bravery and courage.

a unique way of writing a sad memoir

It took a couple of minutes to get into the flow but once I did I was gripped. The author tells the story in a way that helps her separate and reflect on the considerable pain that she's been through from a very young age

Odd narrator choice

A compelling sad but inspirational account ,but i found the narrators voice off putting ,especially when he spoke as the firefly, the girl , he sounded quite creepy.
A change of narrator would of made this more enjoyable to listen too.

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this book. I never got bored once and had to listen from beginning to end, I just couldn't put it down.
I loved the unusual way the story was narrated although it took me a few minutes to understand what was going on.
What an inspiration you are Firefly Keep up the good work!
