Was looking forward to this book since I heard about it. Being a British Muslim born and bred in the UK, Warsi has voiced exactly what most modern Muslims are thinking and feeling about the current climate of our country. The normal everyday Muslims just want to get on with their lives yet every corner they turn they are being discriminated against, collectively punished for crimes extremist and a minority are committing. Warsi gives an account from inside the political arena, her view and same fear we British Muslims all have about not knowing how long we are welcome in the UK and for those of us who call UK home where would we go? A must read to understand how the politics of this country is creating a divide.

Baroness Sayeeda brings to light issues that many of us ponder but often struggle to voice or openly discuss. It was refreshing to hear someone articulate the impact of Islamophobia, which is something that resonates so strongly with the lived experiences of Muslims. As a Muslim woman, I often find myself masking the hurt, projecting resilience, and telling myself that such prejudice doesn’t affect me, refusing to let it define my identity. Yet, listening to this audio reminded me that this facade, while protective, isn’t without its toll. I realise now that acknowledging the discomfort rather than dismissing it can foster both personal growth and solidarity with others facing similar challenges. I now intend to do more to tackle Islamophobia for all including my children.
