Summary
When Kat Denham decided it was to time to become a licensed private investigator, in addition to her successful career as an author, she never expected her first case to take her to South Africa to investigate the murder of a member of the US Trade Commission.
Talk about trial by fire! Not only does she have to navigate language and living condition barriers, but she also has to walk a very fine line not to upstage the investigation by the local Cape Town police officials.
Ladies of the night, gamblers, old feuds, and jealousy make for a lot of suspects, but finding which one did it is the problem. It’s a good thing people like to talk to Kat. It sure makes solving murders a lot easier. And it might just make for a good book for one of her steamy romance novels that she writes under the pen name of Sexy Cissy!
Join Kat and her family as they look for the murderer and discover the beauty and allure of South Africa. Who knew elephants would let you pet them?
This is the 12th book in the Midwest Cozy Mystery series by a USA Today best-selling author.

Ready for a trip
This is another fun mystery that drags you into the story, it could have even be a tour guide for your next holiday, giving you places to visit and food to try. The author does a lot of research for her books and as a consequence of this it isn't hard to picture the sights and places visited in the book. The mystery was interesting and I had no clue behind the motive of the killer. The characters are a fun bunch to be around, with there love of food, animals and friendship, although I did get fed up at the start with the number of times England and the Seychelles were mentioned in such a sort amount of time (both previous book, that I enjoyed from this series).kat certainly gets to go to some different places and I like that she takes you along for the adventure.
Kat has finally got her private detectives licence and her very first official case is working for the government. A South African diplomat has been murdered and it is Kat's job to work with the locals and the embassy staff to find the killer, but she is not alone. Joined by the rest of her family for the once in a life time experience, Kat will have to straddle the line between the have and have not's to get to the bottom of the senseless murder.
It seemed strange having a male narrator when the main character is female but he did a good job and soon had me forgetting that little kink.
