Summary
The first time I met Noah Parker, he asked if I was an escort.
Apparently when you’re a billionaire sports agent, finding strange half-naked women in your hotel room is…normal?
That didn’t stop me launching a stiletto at him.
He’s fine—good reflexes.
Still, he walked into my hotel room—claiming it's his—and has no plans on leaving.
Neither do I.
Which is how I end up sharing a bed with Mr. Jerk.
Platonically…more or less. Nothing happened, I just might have had a few naughty thoughts and some very pleasant dreams.
He’s hot, all right? A hot jerk. Volcanic levels of hotness.
But a jerk nonetheless.
Like when he fires his assistant in front of me.
And then asks me if I want the job.
Only a five-star, card-carrying, world-revolves-around-me A—hole would be so brazen.
But he’s also paying me triple what my newspaper assistant job did.
Giving me access to legit superstars.
Starring in my dirtiest of fantasies.
And that’s a problem.
Because I can’t fall for my bosshole.
They say he always gets what he wants.
But he’s not getting me.

Book 2 - can be standalone
This is book 2 in North's Billionaire Bossholes series and I am totally on board with this series! Can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, this book is the HEA of Noah and Maddie. Noah is head of a sports company, and his PA has messed up one too many times and, in the moment, hires Maddie who proves to be just what he needs in every way! I like that while this is an age gap romance, it's not in your face about the age differences. I also like how North delivers this grumpy / sunshine romance. These characters were just a delight, and I loved their dynamic and banter. A wonderful, well written romance that is sure to please with great dual narration that brought our main characters to life. Smooth flowing storyline that was easy to follow and great level of sweet and steamy romance. I also loved Noah's character growth - it was a journey with a lightbulb moment. Some of Maddie's friend / family group came off rude and calculating but I love that they always had Maddie's back. Very much looking forward to more in this series!

Mostly Loved It
I struggle a bit with how to review this story, because I LOVED the story and the characters, but I really had a problem with Maddy being portrayed as the victim in several events in this story; and Noah being considered a "j*rk." That doesn't feel accurate at all. Obviously, all the issues and miscommunications are resolved by the end of the story, but Maddy felt much more bra**y than Noah felt like he was being unreasonable in all their "problem areas." I had a rather lengthy, ranty review about why she was problematic, but I honestly did love the story, and she WAS charming and capable and a strong, supportive, admirable female character, but she showed her age in A LOT of their problematic interactions with the utter certainty that HER opinion was the only one that was valid, and then he's the one who has to set out to make amends...? That felt problematic to me, but she (and her friends) do eventually admit to their own toxic behaviors and apologize, and I applaud that, because I was beginning to question how it was all going to turn out and if I'd actually end up liking the story at all. Overall, though, their relationship was sweet and organic and it felt like it was going to just work without any major hiccups, and then BOOM! drama! I love how it all worked out, though.

Mr Jerk
Maddy finds herself having to share a hotel room after a mix up while attending her friends wedding. He seems to be a jerk, but when he fires his assistant for her repeat incompetence, he offers her the job instead. Noah is a jerk as a boss but they cannot help but be attracted to each other. Is a HEA possible for them.
I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

Noah and Maddie
Noah and Maddie were accidentally given the same hotel room after their friend's wedding. From there it was a whirlwind of traveling and sports. It was very cute and charming. The audiobook was well done.

This, I hope, is the future of dual narration on audiobooks!
I listened to the audiobook version of this title which was part of the Audible Plus Catalogue.
The dual narration by Lexi Evans and Logan Anare is the absolute best format ever and I wish that all dual narration would be done in this manner. The performance/production alone encourages you to keep listening to the audiobook!
WHY?: Quite simply, they don’t just alternate between chapters. She does all of the narrative for her character (even if it’s within his chapter) and he does all of the narrative for his character. Additionally; she voices all of the female characters and he voices all of the male characters - it’s superb! THIS is how it should be done! You get a far superior and enjoyable listening experience. 10 Stars for that alone!
The story is innovative and interesting, I simply enjoyed the telling of it and it follows seamlessly on from the prior story, Mr Grumpy, with largely the same cast of characters. However, the misunderstandings in this telling are - in my opinion - largely one sided and therefore I didn’t enjoy it as much as book 1. There are some situations that require an equal level of understanding on both sides, which weren’t received especially involving one thoroughly obnoxious character. The solutions, fall outs and subsequent blame/responsibility didn’t sit well with me.
Notwithstanding that, I HAVE To purchase book 3 in the series, Mr Cocky, because of the narration. This, I hope, is the future of dual narration on audiobooks!
