Mr Fortune, Please

By H. C. Bailey

Narrated by Graham Scott

The eclectic surgeon-detective Mr. Reggie Fortune solves a fourth collection of Golden Age mysteries, including: the sudden disappearance of a husband; a skillful but oddly undiscriminating cat burglar; a jewel theft at a society party; a cryptic inscription on an ancient oak chest; a fatal poisoning and a troubled woman; and the whimsical theft of a Persian kitten—which leads Mr. Fortune to a far more chilling and sinister crime...

HC Bailey has a very witty and entertaining writing style. The endings of each of the stories are very satisfying and fully explained, which I personally love. The narrator's voice takes some getting used to, but otherwise, it's very well suited to the style of writing. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you! :)
