About this listen

BEHIND MANY GREAT MEN
STOOD ONE WOMAN

All Hanna Fischer ever wanted to do was to study physics - but her world is suddenly turned upside-down and she is catapulted into a new and extraordinary life: as a secretary, a scientist, a sister and a spy.

From racist gangs in Berlin to mobsters in New York City, and Hitler's inner circle during the Second World War, Hanna encounters some of history's greatest minds and most terrible moments, all while desperately trying to stay alive.

She is a most unique secretary and she will work for many bosses - from shrewd businessmen to vile Nazis, to the greatest boss of them all, Mr Albert Einstein . . .

Excellent plot

Been reading Matthew Reilly for 15 years. He never fails to keep me involved with the story. Can’t put him down. This is another example of giving us enough true facts to make the story believable. Great read. Will be recommending this book. Looking forward to the next best seller

Outstanding narration

LOVED the story which was brought to life by a talented narrator! Her reading/accents/drama are sublime - oh and Matthew’s style shines thru too, of course

interesting premise, gets dull and silly very soon

although I found the premises interesting, the story becomes dull and even ridiculous on the last third of the book. i found the relationship of the heroine and her sister unnecessary and utterly bonkers. it made very little contribution to character development or the story, it just added some extra pages to an otherwise uninspiring book
