Zudem wird der Gutsherr Sir Mark vor den Augen der Gäste in hitzige Debatten verwickelt. Denn zum Leidwesen seiner Nachbarn hat er eine große Farm errichtet und den nebenliegenden Fluss durch einen Damm aufgestaut. Die scheinbare Idylle wird endgültig erschüttert, als Sir Mark leblos aufgefunden wird: Jemand hat ihn mit einem präzisen Schlag ermordet. Auf raffinierte Weise entwirren Sally und Johnny in ihrem zweiten Fall die Verstrickungen rund um den Gutsherren und kommen dem Mörder dabei bedrohlich nah.
