Summary
On the run from the evil Jackie Blue, Carol Ann and her mother find respite in a tiny town deep in the swamps of Louisiana. On her sixteenth birthday Carol Ann finds her mother murdered.
Mama Queen, descended from Haitian Voodoo royalty, convinces the local authorities to let Carol Ann live with her in the candy apple red house in the swamps.
