The book was great, just every time it disconnects from the internet it goes back to the beginning and I have to find my place again which once took 30 mins pls fix this it’s rlly annoying

Great book. Some glitches

I have listened to more audiobooks than I care to mention. Thom Ashley is the only narrator I have cause to complain about. Basil Stag Hare should have been the easiest character to voice. Classic Brititsh Army "what what tallyho" required. Either by poor research, or worse - an ideologically charged visceral hatred of anything to do with Imperial age culture, he creat his own version of what he thinks will work - it absolutely does not.

The previous Redwall audiobooks had perfectly good narrators. Somewhat of a shame for Penguin to allow such a poor narrator to ruin such a great story

Great story, appalling narration

I read these books many years ago but hearing it read by others gave new life to the stories

Wonderments

Quite honestly I have no idea how Puffin managed to ruin such a great story considering books 1 and 2 were well narrated, but they do. The narration mispronounced several English words e.g. "poultice", and names e.g. "Methusaleh",, the cadence is all over the place with sentences broken up oddly, and half the accents are terrible. Accents are so important to Redwall, and this was such a letdown. I have no idea how the narrator got through this book since half the time he sounds bored out of his mind. A real let down considering how much nostalgia this story holds for me.

Lovely story awful narration

With a sadly terrible narrator. how do you get Basil Stag Hare's voice so utterly wrong, most of the voices of the characters are clearly laid out by how they're written yet this narrator tries to change them drastically whilst also being bound to read them as written, it's incredibly jarring.

the best Redwall book so far

The narrator sounds bored a lot of the time. Some of the voices are ok but not as good as other narrators.

classic tale, mediocre narration

The lesser of the three og stories and unfortunately let down by a subpar narration.

Meh

The narration is so shocking and I’m surprised it passed quality control.

The story is narrated in a bored monotone, the accents are absolutely horrific and it sounds like this is the first time the narrator saw the text.

Please don’t be put off the story which is a Redwall series great - but don’t waste your money on this audio book. It is absolutely terrible.

A Terrible Audiobook Performance
