About this listen

In Mary Florida, Lindsey Erith opens the window for listeners to escape in the company of a forthright 17th-century royalist faced with defeat, bastardy, espionage, hatred, and desire for the lady of his urgent dreams. The man of the moment, John Blackavise, is the reinvention of what it means to be a hero. This audiobook is read by Clive Hayward.

A delightful story beautifully written and read. The writing has a lightness of touch whilst being full of imagery, evocative of the context and setting. It’s an exciting tale but is full of humour and romance. Lots of great characters surround the central characters and plot. The hero is wonderful but fully drawn. I’m a little in love with him. A proper man! Mary is courageous, intelligent and gorgeous. I loved it!

Brilliant! Entertaining and excellently written.
