About this listen

The proud and arrogant duke of Everingham is determined to secure a marriage of convenience with heiress Lady Georgiana Rutherford. He's the biggest prize on the London marriage mart, pursued by young unmarried ladies and their matchmaking mamas, as well as married women with a wandering eye. He can have any woman he wants. Or so he thinks....

Lady Georgiana Rutherford - irreverent and unconventional - has no plans to marry. Having grown up poor, Lady George has no intention of giving up her fortune to become dependent on the dubious and unreliable goodwill of a man. Especially a man as insufferable as the duke of Everingham, whose kisses stirs unwelcome and unsettling emotions....

The more she defies him, the more the duke wants her, until an argument at a ball spirals into a passionate embrace. Caught in a compromising position, the duke announces their betrothal. George is furious, and when gossip claims she deliberately entrapped the duke - when she was the one who was trapped - she marches down the aisle in a scarlet wedding dress. But the unlikely bride and groom may have found love in the most improbable of places - a marriage of convenience.

Contains mature themes.

A good tale of loneliness , where the heroine and hero surprise themselves by loving each other in what was expected to be a marriage of convenience

A good mix of romance, humour, tension and passion

I have listened to all the books in this series, absolutely loved them all. Excellent author, I'm sad to have come to the end.

I really struggled to listen to the end due to the bad narration, it was painful.

Awful narrator

The heroine has been built up over a series of books as independent and strong. I was looking forward to her story. Then suddenly she becomes a totally wimp and doormat.
I hate it when this happens, just to fit the story the author ruines a good character and matches her with a personality she wouldn't touch with a barge pole, let alone become his doormat. I couldn't finish the story as it so totally wanted to make me scream. They say the last in the series, is always a disappointment as the author is just wanting to finish. This proves the idea, don't waste your money

Totally disappointing.
