I needed something to keep me entertained during a boring day of household chores and this was ideal - easy to follow and entertaining.

Really enjoyed this!

Any fan of Murder she wrote should enjoy this story. Jessica does it again. Easy listening while on a walk.

Fun to listen to

With lots of description which takes you there. Not a lot of action but a gentle telling

A nice sleepy story

I love Murder She Wrote so was excited to listen to this audiobook. The narrators accent is not the easiest to listen to. I enjoyed the story enough to finish it.

Not too bad

I really enjoyed this audiobook and was sorry when it ended. It was gripping from beginning to end. I liked the exotic location, and it was very well written. It was interesting to learn about life in Mexico and there was a good range of characters, some very likeable and others who were on my list of suspects. The ending was surprising and very well done. A perfect mystery, with no bad language, no obscenity, and no violence. The narrator was also excellent, each character had a distinct voice, and sound quality was perfect.

Excellent

I thought it a good book. Comments on the accents were unfair! Miss Darlow narrated the entire cast and with good execution. I saw JBF aim my mind enjoying the music at the bar and enjoyed her remarkable nosiness to get to the facts and solve the crime. “Just downloaded another” in my head I did that in a true Maine accent 😜

Not my usual experience!

Four things stuck out for me in this book. None of them positive.

The first -- total implausibility #1. Two people invite Jessica to stay with them in Mexico. On the day she arrives, they go off to a party and don't get home until late. Mobile phones existed when this was set, but they didn't think to give Jessica their mobile number in case anything happened. It's Jessica, of course something was going to happen. Why didn't one of them wait at home like a good friend would?

The second -- total implausibility #2. Having invited your good friend to stay with you in Mexico for 2 weeks, why would you go on a (minimum) three-day trip the day after she arrives?!

The third -- apparently email isn't international and you need a separate account for Mexico.

The fourth -- some unidentified messenger service can just fling messages on your screen without you having to log on and without you having to accept a friend request.

The narrator's Maine accent slips and slides all over the place. At times I felt I was in South Carolina. And her Mexican accents verge on racism.

The book is NOT well written. Why say something in 10 words when you can say it in 3 pages? There is SO MUCH superfluous detail. It adds nothing to the plot but minutes to each chapter.

I did make it to the end, and I didn't DISLIKE the book... but I can't say I altogether liked it either.

UTTERLY implausible and so, so slow.

This was a very slow book to get into especially with the "Angela Lansbury" accent the narrator attempts. Its awful. The plot was not hard to figure, a disappointment all round.

Grating accent spoils it.

The story is nothing like the television series if that is what you are after. It is dull, and frustrating, and rather drawn out, but I listened to it on a long journey so it was passable. Wouldn't listen again, so good that it was included in my membership.
Will try another one on a long journey as very little concentration needed.
(Oh, and they got it right that she doesn't drive!)

Ignore It Is Supposed to be a Jessica Fletcher Sto
