Summary

E. Nesbit is best known for her children's books such as The Railway Children, the Psammead series, and the stories of the Bastable family. She was also a poet and wrote many works for adults including short stories in the genre of the supernatural and the macabre. "Man-Size in Marble" is one of her strangest and most unsettling.

A ghost story for Christmas Eve?

My mum told of this book. As a child it had frightened her half to death. This is a lovely little spooky tale, short but sweet

Automatonophobia

excellent narration of an incredibly creepy, old fashioned tale about stone statues reanimating!
although some of the language and is dated, it still remains chilling.
