About this listen

Get Mad: The Complete Series.

Special edition bundle. Three books. Hours and hours of fun, apocalyptic LitRPG, featuring mad scientist powers, along with plenty of laughs. Oh, and killer aliens. Lots of 'em.

I was in my garage, when the space elves addressed the whole world.

They didn't call themselves space elves, of course. Most humans struggled to pronounce Khjurhnalva, so we opted for the easier version. They had a message for us: Forces that had eradicated their species' males were now heading for Earth.

Hungry for our resources, the alien hordes annihilate everything that stands in their way. The space elves offered us access to the System and asked for very little in return. After all, cooperation was vital to the survival of both our species.

I, Mathew Alexander Dunphy, know all of the above is bullshit. I saw the truth with my own eyes and heard it from their beautiful, delicate, deceitful mouths. No one believes me, though. They call me mad.

What reason could the space elves have to lie?

A planet-wide survival reality show? Ridiculous.

Loved this. With hints of all sorts of scifi and fantasy just suspense disbelief and go with the flow. Yes it's totally ridiculous but that's part of the fun. I like the writing style and the narrator has brought the characters to life beautifully.

Wacky fun !

These three books together make for a good fun read, using decent character development in adverse conditions to keep attention.

I also liked that it is also less of a mindless power fantasy and focuses more on the people behind the powers.

Glad it was not as goofy and over the top as I feared and not too heavy on the LitRPG elements. The good writing and British setting and narrator keeps grounded in reality.

This three in one deal makes it all into a fun complete story with a decent conclusion.

Solid and entertaining apocalypse scifi

I was uncertain about this having read some of the reviews and as a real fan of the dungeon crawler carl series.

It is true that there are overlapping concepts, but this has approached those ideas quite differently and is certainly it's own thing. I'm glad I tried it, especially as it's available as an omnibus - bargain!

worth listening to

It was nice to see a homegrown British setting for the story, I was burned before bye a similar setting so was a little hesitant getting this. Then I lost all respect for the author when he claimed that hedgehogs were a garden pest, surely not I thought! They eat slugs and snails which are The biggest pest to quintessential English Gardens and a great friend to cultivators around our great nation. Sure they come with ticks and fleas, but so did we back in the day so we can hardly hold that against them. Other than that I really enjoyed the story, The concept and would recommend for a read. looking forward to phase 2 for mad coming out sometime maybe.

Good story with good performances, my only gripe is that it's open ended. It does end but in a way that leaves you wanting more, which you can take as either good or bad.

Excellent

The series is filled with great comedy, suspense and action. it's great length and fun tone impressed me. I did find the narrator a little off for the accents and I'm a little sad they didn't make some kinda meta joke about how mad mad sounds. but otherwise it was hard to keep from listening to the whole thing.

A great series

For better or worst the storry / wolrd is very similiar to Dungeon Crawler Carl. The Story feels a bit unfinished, I imagine there might be additional books in the future. All in all this was an ejoyable listen definietly worth the credit

Similar to Dungwon Crawling Carl
